That is a marvelous story. It is wonderful to hear stories about great masters with almost unbelievable skills who do their art for the love of it and not for money.
Who at the same time are good people and not into the thuggishness that we so often see in the martial arts world today.
Wonderful story.

Thank you for the great writing. The stories of Master Feng's life were great. Also, I think it is extremely interesting the info you wrote about the relationship between Master Hu and Master Chen.
again,Thank you

I was looking through my notes from a workshop Chen Zhonghua gave in Atlanta in 2003 and found this little jewel that he dropped on the attendees:

"You can never do physical activity without physical activity. Taiji skill cannot be attained by reading books or talking about it. Thinking about it is only 5% of the practice."

I remember Master Chen Zhonghua saying once that pushing hands with Hong was like standing on a bunch of ball bearings that were covered in oil. He said it felt like there was nowhere to stand, nowhere to get a firm footing. He always felt like his balance was always off.

There are times when I've pushed hands with Chen Zhonghua that he lets me get in and makes me feel like I've got him at which point he uses my overcommitment to my disadvantage. This feels like I've put too much of my weight and momentum on a watermelon peel and I fall because of the redirection of my energy. At other times I have experienced the "standing on ball bearings" feeling where I can never get stable and he is allowing me nothing to manipulate.
